Our Rivonia Community meets on Sundays at 9:30am at 61 Wessel Road, Rivonia.
We strive to create a place where everyone feels at home. We have a dynamic kids’ and youth ministry, so there is something for everyone.
Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, there are no in-person gatherings at present, but you can join us online for our live Zoom Service at 9:30am (please contact us for login details), or you can watch on-demand services on our Church Online page.
WHERE WE COME FROM
Our Rivonia Community (previously known as Ridgeway Church) originally started out as plant from Rosebank Union in 1987 that started as a Children’s ministry. This lead to the establishment of the Village Church, which planted 2 congregations, one of which was Paulshof Village Church, which would later become Ridgeway. Peter and Deb Veysie originally pastored this congregation. The small church soon outgrew its venues. Pete one day found himself quite unexpectedly outside the building in Wessels Road with a “for sale” sign. The building had already been sold, but the congregation really believed that God wanted to plant them there and continued to pray. Miraculously, a congregation member bought the building for Ridgeway and it has been home to Ridgeway’s ministry ever since.
We are an independent church who strives to keep Jesus at the centre of all we do. We strive to create an authentic community of faith in which all can feel home and experience God’s life-changing love. Our values are: authenticity, generosity, community and hospitality.
Welcome home! We trust you will feel right at home with us and that you will be transformed by God’s love in this place.
