Jesus, You came to die for us
To teach us how to live
To show us the Way
And yet we know deep down that we
Are too frail, too broken, too selfish, too small
To really live Your way
To really live up to our potential in You
To really make a difference and change the world
And yet, You give us, not just the unimaginable gift of Your life,
But you give us the gift of Your Spirit
Your Comforter, Guide and Truth
To live with us
You give us the gift of Your indwelling Spirit to empower us
To inspire us
To ignite us
As we light this flame
Holy Spirit, let the flame of your power and your love be ignited in us
Come in Your power and Your holy beauty
And meet us here we pray
